Google lost DMOZ and Yahoo link interest

A few days ago Google has removed the suggestion for Webmasters to be listed in Important Web Directories from their Webmaster Guidelines.
They no more display the two entries which stated that one should have relevant sites link to yours and that you should submit your site to directories with relevance such as Open Directory Project and Yahoo or any other kind of content-related high quality sites or directories.
These entries have been removed from Googles Webmaster Guidelines. This could be considered a tough move against all directories, since they live on peoples submissions in volume.
